VPS Whānau Volunteer Club

At Victory Primary School we don’t have a PTA but we do have a group called the Whānau Volunteer Club. Here’s how it works…

Rather than the core purpose of this group being to raise money for the school, the purpose is for people to volunteer time and skills. We will post a range of projects that we think would benefit our school and then people can sign-up to them if they feel that they can contribute time, skills, or resources to the project. For example, it could be anything from building a new seating area to painting a mural to planting trees to making poi.

There is no upfront commitment needed from anybody and no pressure on whānau to volunteer for anything. It’s an initiative that people can contribute to if and when they are able to.
